What is royalty free music anyways?
“Royalty free” refers to any audio that does not require you to pay royalty fees. Let’s say, for example, you wanted to put a Beyoncé song in the background of a YouTube video. You would have to buy a license for that song, and pay royalty fees for each time the video plays or for each project that uses the song. You might be restricted in where you could use that song - you may only be able to use it in a YouTube video and not your podcast. With a royalty-free song, however, you would only pay for a license once and would be able to use it in any future project as many times as you like without issue.
